2 convicts who escaped from a colony in Jizzakh were found in Andijan

Earlier, it was reported that two convicts "escaped" from the prison colony in Jizzakh.  These two convicts were caught in one of the border areas of the Andijan region.  This was reported by the Department of Punishment under the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

On the night of 5-6 January this year, convicts N.M. and K.A. were caught with the help of the public in one of the border regions of the Andijan region.  Consequently, they were placed in temporary custody.

An investigation has been ordered into the situation, and a legal assessment will be made about the actions of prisoners who left the penal institution without permission.

It is noted that convicts who have violated the established order are returned to general, strict, or special-order colonies where they have served their previous sentence.

"For information, convicts serving their sentences in address-colonies, which are considered penal institutions according to Article 114 of the Criminal-Executive Code, can walk and work freely within the territory of the colony without a guard, and with the permission of the administration, move outside the territory of the colony without supervision." the report said.
