4.7 billion sum power theft detected in Jizzakh

In the Sharof Rashidov district of Jizzakh region, the head of a farming enterprise was found to have illegally used electricity worth nearly 4.7 billion sums. This was reported by the Prosecutor General’s Office.
According to the report, the head of the "A.E.J." farm, identified as A.S., illegally connected eight water pumps—each with a capacity of 60 kW—outside the electricity meter. As a result, the farm consumed electricity without it being registered, causing losses amounting to 4 billion 739 million sums, based on preliminary calculations.
A preliminary investigation has been launched into the incident.
For context, on May 13, authorities reported 301 cases of energy loss and 481 instances of energy theft totaling approximately 3 billion sums.
