Bribery arrests: Jizzakh's top engineer and school deputy principal involved (video)

A senior engineer from the Jizzakh regional branch of the "Regional Electric Networks" (Hududiy elektr tarmoqlari) Joint Stock Company (JSC) and a deputy school principal were arrested in Jizzakh region for demanding money in exchange for providing test questions and answers for national certification exams to applicants. The State Security Service reported the incident.
The chief engineer of the electricity supply department in Sharof Rashidov district, along with a controller from the district branch of the "Energosavdo" enterprise under the same JSC, colluded to take a bribe of 90 million UZS from an individual entrepreneur. The bribe was in exchange for installing a 400 kW transformer, preparing all necessary documents, and connecting the power supply for an electric vehicle charging station located along the M-39 international highway. They were caught red-handed with the bribe.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against these individuals under Article 214, Part 3 ("v" and "g" clauses) of the Criminal Code (illegal receipt of material valuables or property benefits by an employee of a state body, state-involved organization, or self-government body), and investigative actions are being carried out.
In another operation in Jizzakh city, a deputy principal of a general education school in Namangan city was arrested for demanding $20,000 in exchange for providing test questions and answers for exams granting national certificates in chemistry and biology for admission to higher education institutions. He was caught red-handed receiving $8,000 and 156 million UZS.
A criminal case has been initiated against this individual under Article 25 (preparation for a crime and attempt to commit a crime) and Article 168, Part 4 ("a" clause) (fraud) of the Criminal Code, and investigative actions are ongoing.
It is worth noting that earlier, a responsible official of the Health Department in Tashkent region was arrested for attempting to illegally sell medical equipment.
