4287Farms that illicitly consumed electricity valued at 745.3 million soums were discovered in Jizzakh. This information was provided by the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the General Prosecutor's Office.
During a preliminary investigation conducted by the Department's Bakhmal, Yangiobod, and Pakhtakor district offices, in collaboration with ETK employees, it was revealed that farm managers, identified as "M.B.", "L.M.", and "U.S.", had clandestinely connected water pumps to the power grid, bypassing electricity meters, to illegally use electricity worth 745.3 million soums for commercial activities.
“Criminal cases have been initiated under Article 169 (theft) of the Criminal Code, and investigations are currently ongoing,” the report stated.
It is worth noting that earlier, a criminal case was also initiated against the head of an LLC in Namangan for unauthorized connection to the electricity network.
