Jizzakh resident’s illegal gas use leads to billion-soum loss

In the Gallaorol district of the Jizzakh region, a citizen was caught illegally consuming natural gas worth 1 billion 354 million soums. This was reported by "Hududgaztaminot" JSC.

According to the report, the resident of Samarkand Street in the district had unlawfully connected to the natural gas network using a rubber hose bypassing the meter. The gas was allegedly used for separating non-ferrous metals from ore.

Authorities documented the violation, recalculated the amount of gas consumed, and determined the total damage. All case materials have been submitted to law enforcement agencies for further investigation.

It is worth noting that a similar case was recently uncovered in the Khojaabad district of the Andijan region, where a lime production workshop was found to have illegally used 5.3 billion soums worth of natural gas. The facility, operated by “B. B. B.” LLC in the “Besh qovoq” neighborhood, used 20 unauthorized gas burners to produce lime, despite having a contract stating the gas was for salt production.
