Jahangir Ortiqkhojayev’s senatorial mandate was also terminated

Former Tashkent mayor Jahangir Ortiqkhojayev’s senatorial mandate was also terminated.  The relevant decision was made yesterday 30 January, by the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

It is noted that this decision was adopted in accordance with Article 4 of the law “On the Status of the Deputy of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Member of the Senate” and Article 16 of the Election Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

“According to the written application of the elected member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jahangir Obidovich Ortiqkho’jayev from the city of Tashkent in connection with the premature termination of his powers as a deputy of the Tashkent City Council of People’s Deputies and to resign from his powers as a member of the Senate  his senatorial mandate should be considered prematurely terminated,” the decision read.

In the decision, Ortiqkhojayev was deregistered as a member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

“This decision should be sent to the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Tashkent City Council of People’s Deputies,” the decision read.
