In Uzbekistan, public transport vehicles are now permitted to use roads with dedicated lanes for directional traffic. This is outlined in the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution, "On Amendments to Traffic Regulations to Enhance the Efficiency of Public Transport," adopted on October 10.

According to the new regulations, other vehicles are prohibited from using these dedicated lanes, with exceptions made only for express and special service vehicles.

Additionally, vehicles that are normally prohibited from using the dedicated lanes may do so only for entering or exiting an adjacent area within 50 meters of the entry or exit point. However, such vehicles must not obstruct the movement of public transport vehicles on these lanes and must yield to them before entering or exiting.

It is worth noting that earlier reports indicated that vehicle registration plates in Uzbekistan would be assigned through random selection. This process is automated within the "State Number Plates" module of the Unified Automated Information System of the Road Safety Service.

However, registration plates featuring specific combinations of letters and numbers are exempt from the higher fee structure.
