There are many talented young people in Uzbekistan. Ministers and mayors should trust young people and not be afraid to appoint them to responsible positions. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke about this today, June 30, during a meeting with young people.

It was noted that dozens of services are available for young people in areas such as learning professions and languages, employment and entrepreneurship. Youth hubs will be established so these services can be accessed based on the “single window” principle. This experience will begin in Surkhandarya and gradually be expanded to other regions.

Currently, 16,500 of the country’s 87,000 civil servants are under the age of 30. Of them, 902 are working in leadership positions.

“We have many talented young people. Ministers and mayors should trust young people and not be afraid to appoint them to responsible positions,” the President said.

For this purpose, a TOP-100 program will be implemented in five areas to identify young leaders. As part of the program, an open competition will be announced for young people in Uzbekistan and compatriots abroad in the fields of the new economy, IT and artificial intelligence, education, medicine and agriculture.

The competition will be held once every two years. Its 100 winners will each receive 50 million soums and be appointed to leadership positions.

Each ministry and sector will launch its own TOP-100 Talented Youth program in its field and send selected young people for internships at relevant international organizations.

Officials were instructed to approve and ensure the implementation of a plan to send 2,000 young people a year for internships at international organizations.
