News about the release of snakes in the "Tuyabuguz" neighborhood area of Yangiyol district, Tashkent region, has spread widely on social media. The Department of Ecology for the Tashkent region has responded to the situation.

On October 2, the district Ecology Department, along with the district Internal Affairs Department and the Emergency Situations Department, formed a working group in response to the release of cobra snakes that had been kept in a resident's home. This group includes representatives from the district Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Development, the District Sanitary-Epidemiological Service, the Department of Urban Improvement, local community leaders, and activists.

Authorities discovered that N. Yu., a 1980-born resident of the "Tuyabuguz" neighborhood area, had been keeping more than 30 Asian cobras in his apartment without the necessary permits. For unknown reasons, N. Yu. released these snakes into the wild. Local residents found out about the situation and managed to capture and kill two of the cobras.

Currently, the working group is conducting health checks in the homes of residents living nearby and providing information on the responsible care of pets. It has been reported that the Ministry of Internal Affairs is conducting a preliminary investigation into the actions of the citizen. Further updates on the situation will be shared as they become available.
