A new Minister of Higher Education was appointed

Sharipov Kungirotboy Avezimbetovich has been designated as the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation, as officially announced by the President's press secretary, Sherzod Asadov.

He secured approval for the position through a Presidential Decree, having previously gained support from the deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis. Kungirotboy Sharipov, born in 1963 in the Kungirot district of Karakalpakstan, served as the rector of Tashkent State University of Economics before this appointment.

Before his current role, Sharipov held positions such as Deputy Minister of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Rector of Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent.

The Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation post had remained vacant since Ibrahim Abdurahmanov, the previous minister, assumed the role of the head of the Ministry of Agriculture in October of the preceding year.
