Another Uzbek athlete becomes world champion

On October 4, Uzbek athlete Temurbek Giyazov won a gold medal at the World Para Athletics Championships in New Delhi, India. He competed in the high jump event in the T64 category.

The 29-year-old Giyazov cleared 2.03 meters, not only setting a new personal best but also winning the gold medal at the World Championships.

Results of the men’s high jump (T64):

Temurbek Giyazov (Uzbekistan) – 2.03 meters
Jonathan Broom-Edwards (Great Britain) – 2.00 meters
Pravin Kumar (India) – 2.00 meters

For reference, the Uzbekistan national team currently has 5 gold, 4 silver, and 2 bronze medals.

It is worth noting that earlier, it was reported that Uzbek athlete Fakhriddin Khamroev reached the final of the 400-meter race at this World Championships and also won a gold medal.
