Yulduz Usmanova's concert in New York was cancelled following Jewish community protests (video)

The scheduled concert of People's Artist of Uzbekistan Yulduz Usmanova in New York on September 14 has been cancelled due to protests from the Jewish diaspora in the United States. This information was reported by San'at Sharipov, an Uzbek journalist based in the U.S.

The concert, organized by Besh Styzn Entertainment LLC, was set to take place at The Oceana Theater. However, recent remarks by Usmanova denouncing Israel and calling for a boycott of Jewish products led to backlash from the Bukhara Jewish community, prompting the cancellation. Consequently, tickets for the event have been withdrawn.

The only remaining concert will now be held in Cincinnati, Ohio, where the Uzbek diaspora is comparatively smaller. Usmanova, who has been performing in New York with the support of Star Entertainment since 2009, confirmed the cancellation but declined to comment on the specific reasons.

"We'll see you in Cincinnati on September 7; we cannot go to other states due to the current situation," Usmanova stated.

Reports suggest that Jewish organizations in the United States not only called for the cancellation of Usmanova's concert but also sought to review her activities in the U.S. for potential tax implications.

Previously, Usmanova had commented on the Israel-Palestine conflict on her Instagram page, accusing Israel of aggression and expressing her non-recognition of the state. She subsequently called for a boycott of Israeli products, which was met with anger from the Bukhara Jewish community in the U.S. and Israel. Her team has been advised that an apology to the Israeli people for her "anti-Semitic" remarks is necessary.

It is worth noting that Usmanova's concert in New York was also cancelled in 2014 due to logistical issues. At that time, although the singer's entry visa to the U.S. was issued, her musicians’ visas were not processed in time, leading to the cancellation of the event.
