More than 100 complaints regarding defective goods and delays in product delivery were submitted by consumers against Uzum Market LLC to the Competition Development and Consumer Rights Protection Committee. The committee announced this on its official page on January 30.

According to the statement, over 100 appeals submitted via social media raised various concerns about the services provided by Uzum Market.

Specifically, consumers reported issues such as malfunctioning applications, failure to deliver orders within the specified timeframe, delivery errors, defects in delivered products, and difficulties encountered when canceling contracts.

These cases were reviewed by the Competition Committee, and the problems outlined in the complaints were resolved positively.

In particular, after an online-purchased vacuum cleaner was found to be defective, the contract was canceled and more than 1.17 million soums were refunded to the consumer.

At the same time, the committee urged consumers to carefully review service terms, return policies, and settlement procedures in advance when ordering products or activating subscriptions through digital platforms.

Earlier, it was reported that lotions were being sold instead of medical alcohol in pharmacies. As part of a “mystery shopper” initiative, the Competition Committee examined the sale of alcohol-based products in pharmacies. More than 20 pharmacies were inspected, and in approximately 25 percent of them, customers requesting medical alcohol were offered lotion instead.
