Uzhydromet issues emergency warning

Due to expected rainfall on March 31 and April 2–6, mudflows and flash floods may occur in foothill and mountainous areas of the country, according to an emergency warning issued by Uzhydromet.
According to the agency, the following areas are at risk:
- Kashkadarya region: Yakkabag, Dehkanabad, Chiroqchi, Kitab, Shahrisabz, Kamashi, and Guzar districts;
- Surkhandarya region: Sariosiyo, Uzun, Altinsay, Denau, Baysun, Sherabad, Shurchi, Kumkurgan, and Muzrabot districts;
- Samarkand region: Urgut, Samarkand, Bulungur, Nurabad, Kushrabot, Kattakurgan, Payarik, Jomboy, and Ishtikhan districts;
- Navoi region: Khatirchi, Navbahor, Nurota, Konimex, and Karmana districts;
- Jizzakh region: Zomin, Bakhmal, Gallaorol, Sharof Rashidov, Forish, and Yangiabad districts;
- Tashkent region: Ohangaron, Bostanliq, Parkent, Piskent, Urtachirchiq, and Yukorichirchiq districts, as well as the cities of Angren and Almalyk;
- Namangan region: Pop, Kosonsoy, Chartak, Chust, Namangan, and Yangiqorgon districts;
- Fergana region: Sokh, Shohimardon, Fergana, and Besharik districts;
- Andijan region: Andijan, Asaka, Jalakuduk, Kurgantepa, Pakhtaabad, Izboskan, Khojaabad, and Marhamat districts, as well as the city of Khanabad.
Residents of foothill and mountainous areas, vacationers, as well as drivers traveling through mountainous regions are urged to take precautionary measures.
In some parts of the republic, rainwater accumulation is also possible, which may lead to localized flooding.
