Uzhydromet issues urgent warning

Mudflows and flood events may occur in the foothill and mountainous areas of the country due to expected rains from July 8 to 13 this year. Uzhydromet issued a warning about this.

In particular, mudflows and flood events may occur in the following areas:

  • Tashkent region: Ohangaron, Bostonliq, Parkent, Piskent, Ortachirchiq and Yuqorichirchiq districts, as well as the cities of Angren and Almalyk;
  • Namangan region: Pop, Kosonsoy, Chortoq, Chust, Namangan and Yangiqorgon districts;
  • Fergana region: Sokh, Shohimardon, Fergana and Beshariq districts;
  • Andijan region: Andijan, Asaka, Jalolquduq, Qorgontepa, Paxtaobod, Izboskan, Khojaobod and Marhamat districts, as well as Khanabad city.

Residents of foothill and mountainous areas, vacationers and drivers traveling through mountainous areas were asked to take precautionary measures.

It was also noted that rainwater may accumulate in some regions of the country, which could lead to flooding in certain areas.

Earlier, it was reported that strong winds and dust storms may be observed today, July 7, in some regions of Uzbekistan, including Tashkent city.
