Uzhydromet issues emergency warning

Uzhydromet has issued an emergency warning due to expected rainfall across Uzbekistan from May 28 to June 2, 2025. The agency reports a risk of mudslides and flooding in the foothill and mountainous regions of the country.

According to the forecast, mudslides may occur in the following areas:

Kashkadarya region: Yakkabog, Dehqonobod, Chiroqchi, Kitob, Shahrisabz, Kamashi, and Guzar districts.

Surkhandarya region: Sariosiyo, Uzun, Oltinsoy, Denov, Boysun, Sherobad, Shorchi, Kumkurgan, and Muzrobod districts.

Samarkand region: Urgut, Samarkand, Bulungur, Nurobod, Qoshrabot, Kattakurgan, Payariq, Jomboy, and Ishtikhan districts.

Navoi region: Khatirchi, Navbahor, Nurota, Konimekh, and Karmana districts.

Jizzakh region: Zomin, Bakhmal, Gallaorol, Sharof Rashidov, Forish, and Yangiabad districts.

Tashkent region: Ahangaron, Bostanlyk, Parkent, Piskent, Ortachirchik, and Yukorichirchik districts, as well as the cities of Angren and Almalyk.

Namangan region: Pop, Kosonsoy, Chortoq, Chust, Namangan, and Yangikurgan districts.

Fergana region: Sokh, Shohimardon, Fergana, and Beshariq districts.

Andijan region: Andijan, Asaka, Jalaquduk, Kurgantepa, Pakhtaabad, Izboskan, Khojaabad, Marhamat districts, and the city of Khanabad.

Citizens living in or traveling through these regions are urged to take precautionary measures. Vacationers and drivers in mountainous areas are especially advised to remain alert. There is also a possibility of localized flooding due to rainwater accumulation in several areas.
