Uzhydromet issues heatwave warning for July 17–19

Uzhydromet, Uzbekistan’s national weather service, has issued an urgent warning regarding an incoming heatwave expected to affect the country between July 17 and 19.
According to the forecast, very hot air masses will enter Uzbekistan from the south during this period. On July 17, high temperatures are expected in the northern, southern, and desert regions of the country. From July 18 to 20, air temperatures will rise to 40–43°C across most of the territory, and may reach 44–45°C in some areas of the southern and desert regions.
Additionally, wind speeds are expected to increase to 13–18 meters per second throughout the republic, with dust storms likely to occur in certain areas.
Authorities are advising residents to take precautions against heat-related health risks and reduced visibility due to dust.
