Uzgidromet warns of floods

Uzgidromet has issued a warning about potential floods due to heavy rainfall expected on June 30 and July 1. The mountainous regions of the republic are particularly at risk.

Specifically, floods may occur in the following areas:

  • Sariosia, Uzun, Oltinsoy, Denov, Boysun, Sherobod, Shorchi, Qumqorgon, and Muzrobot districts of Surkhandarya region.
  • Ohangaron, Bostonliq, Parkent, Piskent, Ortachirchiq, Yuqorichirchiq districts, and the cities of Angren and Olmaliq in the Tashkent region.
  • Pop, Kosonsoy, Chortoq, Chust, Namangan, and Yangiqorgon districts in the Namangan region.
  • Sokh, Shohimardon, Fergana, and Beshariq districts in the Fergana region.
  • Andijan, Asaka, Jalaquduq, Qorgontepa, Pakhtaobod, Izboskan, Khojaobod, Marhamat districts, and the city of Khonobod in Andijan region.

"Residents, vacationers, and drivers in mountainous areas are advised to take precautionary measures," the report stated.

Additionally, there is a risk of rainwater accumulation in the Surkhandarya, Tashkent regions, and the Fergana Valley, which could lead to flooding.
