5813Individuals involved in illicit currency exchange were apprehended in Tashkent city, Fergana, and Khorezm regions, as reported by the Department under the General Prosecutor's Office.
The report details that a swift operation was conducted in collaboration with the Shaykhontohur district department, the Department of Internal Affairs, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. During the operation, D.I., involved in currency exchange, was apprehended. A total of $5.3 thousand was seized when the individual sold it to M.Kh. for 66.8 million soums, and by the end of the operation, physical evidence totaling $18,175 was collected.
Similarly, S.D., engaged in currency exchange, was apprehended during a rapid operation conducted by the department's Fergana regional office in collaboration with the staff of the Safety Service of the State, and E.Kh. A total of $3.5 thousand was confiscated when the individual sold it to Sh.Kh. for 44.1 million soums.
Additionally, individuals involved in currency exchange during rapid operations organized by the departments of Khiva city and Yangariq district in collaboration with the State's Safety Service employees N.M. and R.P. were apprehended while purchasing $3.5 thousand from another citizen for 43.8 million soums.
In connection with these incidents, criminal cases have been initiated under Article 25, 177 of the Criminal Code (illegal acquisition or transfer of currency values), and investigative procedures are underway, according to the report.
