The ambassador of Uzbekistan to Sweden was dismissed

14370Nodir Ganiyev, serving as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Sweden, has been dismissed from his position. This decision was made by the Senate Council of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan.
The diplomatic mission of Uzbekistan in Stockholm was established in 2022, marking the country's 36th embassy abroad. Initially, Nodir Ganiyev was appointed as the Temporary Affairs Representative to Sweden. In 2023, he became the first Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Sweden, presenting his credentials to King Carl XVI Gustaf in November.
Nodir Ganiyev, 53, graduated from the Faculty of Oriental Studies at Tashkent State University (now the National University of Uzbekistan). Since 1994, he has held various roles within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, both in its central administration and in diplomatic missions abroad.
Before his assignment in Sweden, Ganiyev led the Department of Cooperation with European States and EU Institutions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He is proficient in English, Arabic, Russian, and French.
