New ambassador of Uzbekistan to Korea is appointed

4406Uzbekistan has appointed a new ambassador to the Republic of Korea. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Alisher Abdusalomov arrived in Seoul this morning, August 29. This was reported by the "Dunyo" news agency.
Before being appointed to Seoul, he headed the Secretariat of the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan. The diplomat is 40 years old and graduated from Westminster International University in Tashkent and Kyong Hee University in South Korea.
It is reported that Alisher Abdusalomov began his career at the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan (now the Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade), advancing from leading specialist to head of the General Department. Diplomatic service has also played a significant role in his career. In particular, from 2013-2016, he served as a consultant on trade and economic issues at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Japan, and from 2018-2024, he held the same position in South Korea.
Alisher Abdusalomov was appointed to replace Vitaly Fen, who led the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Seoul from 1995 to 2024 with a brief interruption.
It should be noted that the previous ambassador, Vitaly Fen, passed away in June of this year.
