In the 10,406 registered marriages between January-October of this year, the age of the bride was greater than that of the groom. This was reported by the State Statistics Committee.
The largest number of marriages where the bride was older than the groom was recorded in Tashkent city and Bukhara region.
This situation is as follows in the region:
- Republic of Karakalpakstan – 855;
- Andijan region – 409;
- Bukhara region – 1,064;
- Jizzakh region – 339;
- Kashkadarya region – 944;
- Navoi region – 411;
- Namangan region – 419;
- Samarkand region – 979;
- Surkhandarya region – 882;
- Syrdarya region – 275;
- Tashkent region – 916;
- Fergana region – 599;
- Khorezm region – 921;
- Tashkent city – 1,393.
