The agency "UzArchive" has published the original version of the decision of the Supreme Council on the proclamation of state independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

It should be noted that on 31 August, 1991, at the extraordinary session of the Supreme Council in Tashkent the decision “On the proclamation of the state independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan” was adopted.

In accordance with this decision, 1 September was declared Independence Day, as well as a holiday.

It should be recalled that on 31 August 1991, the law “On the Foundations of State Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan” was also adopted.
