Uzbekistan’s financial cooperation with Britain to enter new stage

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation led by Lord Jason Stockwood, the United Kingdom’s Minister of State for Investment, as part of the Tashkent International Investment Forum program. The presidential press service reported this.

According to the report, the meeting was attended by heads of leading British companies, banks and financial institutions, including UK Export Finance, Standard Chartered UK, Sturgeon Capital, Endeavour Mining and British Petroleum.

The parties considered issues related to further expanding trade, economic, investment and financial cooperation.

The positive dynamics of bilateral cooperation were emphasized. Trade turnover and the number of enterprises with British investment are growing rapidly.

Proposals to develop the Tashkent International Financial Center, the International Commercial Court and the capital market, as well as to expand technological partnership in pharmaceuticals, artificial intelligence and energy, were supported.

Special attention was paid to promoting joint projects in finance, infrastructure, public-private partnership, green energy, transport, geology and oil and gas, including projects to develop social infrastructure and recycle waste.

Earlier, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov, a delegation led by Suhail Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates, and a delegation led by Wang Hongzhi, head of the National Energy Administration of China, as part of the 5th Tashkent International Investment Forum.
