Extreme heat is expected to intensify in Uzbekistan by the end of this week, with temperatures in some areas rising to 44 degrees Celsius. Uzhydromet reported this.
According to the agency, hot and mostly dry weather will prevail across Uzbekistan during the day today, July 13. Only in some parts of the Fergana Valley may there be short-term rain and thunderstorms in the afternoon. In most of the country, temperatures will be around 38-41 degrees Celsius, while in the north, south and desert areas they may reach 42-44 degrees.
The heat will gradually intensify until the end of the working week.
Daytime temperatures will rise to 41-43 degrees Celsius, and in the north, south and desert areas to 42-44 degrees. Nights will also be humid and hot, with temperatures around 23-28 degrees, and 28-33 degrees in the north, south and desert areas.
Winds will blow from the east at 7-12 meters per second, strengthening to 13-18 meters per second in some places and possibly accompanied by dust storms in certain areas.
On July 13-14 this year, short-term rain and thunderstorms are possible in some mountainous areas.
On July 13, mudflow and flood events may occur in the foothill and mountainous areas of Tashkent, Andijan, Namangan and the Fergana Valley.
In Tashkent city, the weather will be mostly slightly cloudy. On July 13-14 this year, temperatures will be 38-40 degrees Celsius, while on July 15-17 they will reach 40-43 degrees. Nighttime temperatures will mostly be 25-28 degrees.
Earlier, it was reported that dust storms may be observed in some regions of Uzbekistan today, July 13.
Uzhydromet also issued a warning that very hot air masses from the south are expected to enter Uzbekistan on July 13-17 this year.
