Uzbek tennis player Humayun Sultanov has qualified for the Australian Open, the first Grand Slam tournament of the year, set to be held in January. This was confirmed by QALAMPIR.UZ.

Sultanov, recognized as Uzbekistan’s top tennis player, will make his debut at the Australian Open. He has been included in the list of players for the singles qualifying round of the tournament.

The qualifying competitions for the 2025 Australian Open will begin on January 6. Sultanov's opponent in the qualification round has yet to be determined.

It is worth noting that Denis Istomin was the last Uzbek tennis player to participate in this prestigious event. Istomin created a sensation at the 2017 Australian Open when he defeated then-world number two Novak Djokovic in a match that lasted almost five hours, winning 7/6(10), 5/7, 2/6, 7/6(6), 6/4.
