Uzbekistan weightlifters won 12 medals at the World Championships

In the city of Heraklion in Greece, the World Youth Championships in weightlifting has finished.  Mirkhosil Mirzabayev became the last Uzbek athlete in the weight category +109 kg and won 3 silver medals.  This is reported by the press service under the National Olympic Committee.

It was noted that the fight for the championship in the weight of +109 kg category took part between the Iranian Alirizo Yusufi and Mirzabayev.  However, in the end, Yusufi won a convincing victory for superiority in clean and jerk category.  Mirkhosil lifted 176 kg in the snatch, 212 kg in the clean and jerk, total 388 kg in the doubles.

World Championships U-20 in weightlifting: 

+109 kg:
1. Alirizo Yusufi (Iran) – 416 (177+239) kg;
2. Mirkhosil Mirzabayev (Uzbekistan) – 388 (176+212) kg;
3. Bogdan Taranenko (Ukraine) – 374 (167+204) kg.

Thus, the young weightlifters of Uzbekistan completed the world championship with 5 gold, 5 silver and 2 bronze medals.  Uzbekistan took 3rd place in the overall standings.
