Alisher Ganiyev, representing Uzbekistan at the U-23 World Wrestling Championship in Tirana, Albania, has claimed the gold medal. This achievement was reported by a QALAMPIR.UZ source.
In the final match, Ganiyev faced Dinislam Bammatov, competing as a neutral athlete, and secured an 8-4 victory. His win earned Uzbekistan its first medal at this year's World Championship.
Previously, the best result for Uzbekistan in the World Championship came from "classic" wrestler Daniyorkhan Nakibov, who competed in the 77 kg weight category and reached the semi-finals.
