Uzbekistan judokas shine at Paris “Grand Slam” with 2 medals

The Paris "Grand Slam", held on February 1-2, marked the first major event of the 2025 season on the International Judo Federation’s calendar. Three judokas from Uzbekistan participated in the prestigious tournament, securing impressive results.
The Uzbek delegation included:
- Bahrom Boturov in the -60 kg weight category
- Shahram Ahadov in the -73 kg weight category
- Utkirbek Turaboyev in the +100 kg weight category
Bahrom Boturov earned a bronze medal in the -60 kg category, showcasing his skill and determination. Shahram Ahadov reached the final in the -73 kg category and triumphed over his Kosovar opponent to claim the gold medal, securing the top spot on the podium.
In the +100 kg category, Utkirbek Turaboyev faced early exits. He was defeated by the French competitor in the first round and, after losing to his Japanese opponent in the qualifiers, was eliminated from the tournament.
With 1 gold and 1 bronze medal, Uzbekistan finished 7th in the overall medal standings at the Paris Grand Slam, underscoring the strong performance of its judo team at this international event.
