In January-September 2024, the highest number of tourists visiting Uzbekistan came from the Republics of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, according to the Statistics Agency.
A total of 5.7 million foreign citizens visited Uzbekistan for tourism purposes during this period, marking an increase of 825,800 people or 16.8% compared to the same period last year.
The breakdown of tourists by country is as follows:
- Tajikistan: 1.6 million people
- Kyrgyzstan: 1.6 million people
- Kazakhstan: 1.1 million people
- Russia: 609,700 people
- Turkmenistan: 120,400 people
- Turkey: 84,300 people
- China: 50,400 people
- India: 48,600 people
- South Korea: 32,600 people
- Italy: 30,300 people
- Other countries: 311,900 people
Additionally, it was previously reported that the majority of Uzbek citizens traveled to Kyrgyzstan for tourism. Between January and July 2024, 3.4 million Uzbeks traveled abroad for tourism, an increase of 890,500 people or 35.7% compared to the same period in 2023.
