Funds allocated for construction and repair of roads in Uzbekistan are increased 3 times

Funds allocated for the construction and repair of roads in Uzbekistan have increased threefold over the last six years. This was discussed today, September 12, at the meeting organized by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to address current issues in reforming the road industry.

It was reported that during the previous period, more than 2,000 new pieces of specialized equipment were purchased for the enterprises of the Committee of Automobile Roads. Thanks to this investment, 65,000 kilometers of roads have been constructed and repaired.

Furthermore, this year alone, 410 billion soums were allocated for the construction and repair of internal roads in 470 neighborhoods. Asphalt was laid for the first time on approximately 3,000 neighborhood roads, and dirt roads in another 2,000 neighborhoods were upgraded to gravel.

We would like to remind you that during the first seven months of 2022, it was reported that poorly repaired roads amounted to 6.1 billion soums in value.
