New futsal federation to boost Uzbekistan's futsal development (video)

The Futsal Federation of Uzbekistan is set to begin operations in 2025, as announced during a presentation ceremony held today, December 25.

Bekzod Akmalovich Mamatkulov was officially appointed president of the newly established federation, while Aziz Akbarjonov was elected vice president. Marufjon Abdullayev will serve as the general secretary.

During the event, Abdusalom Azizov, president of the Football Association of Uzbekistan (UFA), emphasized the significant attention given to football and futsal by the country's leadership. He highlighted FIFA’s decision to entrust Uzbekistan with hosting the Futsal World Cup, which was successfully organized.

However, Azizov acknowledged the national team’s disappointing performance in the tournament, underscoring the urgent need to enhance futsal development nationwide.

"Our team did not perform well, demonstrating the necessity of elevating futsal to a higher level. This matter has been thoroughly examined by the association," Azizov stated.
