13550Mass production of Volkswagen cars will begin in Uzbekistan in the fourth quarter of this year, according to a statement from Uzavtosanoat JSC.
Volkswagen’s presence in the Uzbek market dates back to 2019, when assembly began for Caddy light commercial vehicles and Skoda Kodiaq family crossovers at a facility in the city of Jizzakh.
During the IV Tashkent International Investment Forum, a new agreement was signed between Volkswagen AG and Alyans Auto, a structural enterprise of Uzavtosanoat JSC. The agreement aims to expand the model range of modern passenger vehicles, from sedans to full-size crossovers.
“Located in the heart of the region, Uzbekistan opens up vast opportunities for organizing automobile production and export. We consider this cooperation an important step toward strengthening Volkswagen's stable presence in the market,” said Martin Sander, Member of the Board of Management of Volkswagen AG for Sales, Marketing and After-Sales Service.
The project includes plans to launch new production capacities, increase localization levels, transfer advanced technologies, and develop the export potential of Uzbekistan’s automotive industry. Mass production is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2025.
Since 2019, the enterprise has operated as an official manufacturer and distributor of Volkswagen and Skoda under the brand name "Jizzax Auto." Following the results of Volkswagen’s BPDD corporate audit, the company underwent rebranding in 2025 and now continues its operations under the name "Alyans Auto."
