The average monthly salary in Uzbekistan rose by 17.4% in 2024 compared to the previous year, according to the Statistics Agency.

In 2024, the average nominal monthly salary, inclusive of taxes and other payments, reached 5,357,000 sums, up from 4,562,000 sums in 2023.

The highest average monthly wages for 2024 were reported in:
- Tashkent city: 9,072,400 sums
- Navoi region: 6,766,100 sums
- Tashkent region: 5,097,900 sums
- Andijan region: 4,616,100 sums
- Bukhara region: 4,343,900 sums

The Statistics Agency clarified that the calculation of average monthly wages excluded agricultural and small business entities, as these sectors report data annually.

While Uzbekistan recorded a notable rise in wages, the country still lags behind regional peers. In September 2024, Kazakhstan led Central Asia in average nominal wages at $817.2, nearly double that of Uzbekistan ($437.8) and Kyrgyzstan ($411.2), based on comparative data from the CIS Interstate Statistical Committee.

This growth reflects ongoing economic adjustments but underscores the need for further improvements to close the wage gap with neighboring countries.
