The birth rate in Uzbekistan continues to decline. In the first four months of 2025, a total of 266,478 live births were registered across the country—8,000 fewer than during the same period in 2024. This information was published by the National Statistics Committee.

According to the data, from January to April 2025, Civil Registry Offices recorded 266,478 live births nationwide. Of these, 136,060 births occurred in urban areas, while 130,418 were registered in rural areas.

For comparison, during the same period in 2024, 274,500 live births were reported. At that time, the distribution included 139,300 births in urban areas and 135,200 in rural areas.

It is worth recalling that a report by the Statistics Agency on Uzbekistan’s demographic trends noted a similar pattern in the first nine months of last year, with a decrease in the number of births and an increase in deaths.
