As of January 1, 2025, women account for 66.3% of long-lived individuals in Uzbekistan, while men make up 34.6%, according to the Family and Gender Research Institute.

It was noted that the number of citizens aged 90 and above in the country totals 18,915. Of these, 56.5% live in urban areas, while 43.5% reside in rural regions. By region, the highest numbers of long-lived individuals are recorded in Fergana (2,582 people), Tashkent city (2,155), Kashkadarya (2,011), Surkhandarya (1,799), and Tashkent region (1,740).

According to demographic projections, the number of long-lived citizens in the country is expected to grow steadily in the coming years. By 2030, this figure is forecast to reach 44,016, and by 2040, 93,971. Experts attribute this trend to the aging of generations born between 1935 and 1950, when birth rates were relatively high (between 36.6 and 30.9 per mille). The rise in life expectancy in Uzbekistan also supports this process: in 2010, the average life expectancy at birth was 73.0 years, while by 2024 it had increased to 75.1 years.

According to the Family and Gender Research Institute’s findings, the main social factor contributing to longevity is social activity. About 76.3% of respondents noted that an active social life helps maintain both mental and physical well-being. Meanwhile, 38.8% of respondents said genetic inheritance plays an important role in longevity.

It is worth noting that earlier, a 130-year-old woman from Fergana was recognized as the oldest citizen in Uzbekistan. Huwaydo Momo Umarova (Toshmatova), born in 1895, was found to have no official record of birth.

Following a claim filed by the district justice department, the Civil Court of Kokand Inter-District Court, in a mobile hearing held in the Korakum neighborhood of Buvayda district, officially established that Huwaydo Momo was born on January 1, 1895, in Buvayda district.
