Reports spread on social networks that from 1 August of the current year, all existing restrictions on Twitter, TikTok, and other networks will be removed in Uzbekistan.  In order to clarify this situation, QALAMPIR.UZ contacted the Press Service under the State Inspection for Control over the Information and Telecommunications Sector.

It should be noted that there is no document confirming that all existing restrictions on Twitter, TikTok, and other networks will be removed.

"I can't say anything now.  Such information was leaked from somewhere, from upper bodies of the state.  We do not have accurate information," - says the representative of "O'zkomnazorat".

For reference, Twitter, TikTok, and VKontakte are restricted in Uzbekistan.  Uzbekistan sent applications to the above companies to move their servers to Uzbekistan.  Following this, on 2 July 2021, the activity of some social networks was restricted due to the processing of personal data of citizens of Uzbekistan contrary to the requirements of Article 27-1 of the law "On Personal Data".

It should be recalled that QALAMPIR.UZ published a journalistic inquiry entitled "All social networks should be blocked in Uzbekistan."

It mentions that Telegram, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook can be blocked at any time in Uzbekistan, and TikTok and Twitter are already on the banned list.

It is worth mentioning that most of us use these networks through VPN, even the officials, the statesmen, and even the ones who voted for the ban of social networks.
