Honored Artist of Uzbekistan Dilmurod Islamov passes away

On August 8, Honored Artist of Uzbekistan and Chairman of the Public Association "Circle Players of Uzbekistan," Dilmurod Islamov, passed away at the age of 71, the Ministry of Culture reported.

For many years, Islamov dedicated himself to the development of circle art in Uzbekistan. He was the founder of the republican “Zarb Competition” and the “Circle Players Festival.”

He published the collection "Circle Lessons from Masters" in 2014, the textbook "Special Instrument (Circle Methods: Lessons from Masters)" in 2015, the monograph "Sound from Music", and several scientific articles in both national and international journals.

In 2024, according to an order by the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Islamov was solemnly awarded the “Culture and Art Devotee” badge.

Born in Tashkent in 1954, Islamov began his career in 1968 as a master musician in the “Shodlik” ensemble, where he worked for over 37 years. He performed in more than 100 countries, promoting Uzbek art globally. Since 2014, he had served as a senior lecturer in the “Instrumental Performance” department at the Uzbekistan State Institute of Arts and Culture.

It is also worth noting that on August 7, Jora Butakoz, a member of the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan and renowned educator and writer, passed away at the age of 99.
