In accordance with the Labor Code of Uzbekistan, it is necessary to regulate the payment of wages in kind, that is, in the form of agricultural products or food and accommodation, and to determine certain categories of employees whose wages are paid once a month.  The decision of the Cabinet of Ministers was discussed.

According to this, it is forbidden to pay labor in kind, except for the following cases:

-    Agricultural products grown and processed by producers of agricultural goods;

-    To provide the domestic worker with food and housing.

According to the decision, the payment of wages in kind is specified in the labor contract and cannot exceed 30 percent of the employee’s monthly wages.

In non-tariff wage systems, the minimum wage cannot be more than 30 percent.

It is reported that wages paid in kind are included in the system of remuneration for labor.

It is taken into account that the salary in kind is equal to the value of the salary in money and is suitable and useful for the personal consumption of the employee and his family.

In order to prevent abuse by the employer of payment in kind, the following is prohibited:

- The price of goods offered by producers of agricultural goods is higher than its cost;

- The goods provided by the employers of the domestic worker are offered at a price higher than the actual market price.
