Car registration in Uzbekistan will be 68 times more expensive

21734Car registration fees in Uzbekistan are set to skyrocket, increasing by 68 times from April 1st. This hike, approved by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Polat Bobojonov, one day prior, will raise the registration and re-registration fees from 34,000 soums to 2.32 million soums. Electric car registration fees will also surge, albeit by a lesser margin, increasing by 15 times.
The new directive mandates a significant increase in the payment rates for registering and re-registering motor vehicles and trailers. Effective April 1st, the fees for electric cars, motor vehicles, and trailers will surge by 15 times, amounting to 1.5 BCA(base calculation amount) or 510 thousand soums. Meanwhile, the fees for other vehicles will skyrocket by 68.4 times, reaching 6.84 base calculation amount
or 2.32 million soums.
Prior to this adjustment, the registration and re-registration fees for motor vehicles and trailers stood at 10 percent of BCA, equating to 34 thousand soums.
