The region with the largest population in Uzbekistan is announced

As of 1 July 2022, the region with the largest permanent population in Uzbekistan is the Samarkand region, and the least is the Syrdarya region.  This was reported by the State Statistics Committee.

As of 1 July 2022, the number of permanent residents of the regions:

• Samarkand region - 4 million 69.3 thousand people;
• Fergana region - 3 million 931.1 thousand people;
• Kashkadarya region - 3 million 438.6 thousand people;
• Andijan region - 3 million 283.8 thousand people;
• Tashkent region - 2 million 962.5 thousand people;
• Namangan region - 2 million 959.3 thousand people;
• Tashkent city - 2 million 909.5 thousand people;
• Surkhandarya region - 2 million 771.1 thousand people;
• Bukhara region - 1 million 990.4 thousand people;
• the Republic of Karakalpakstan - 1 million 962.4 thousand people;
• Khorezm region - 1 million 936.6 thousand people;
• Jizzakh region - 1 million 457.7 thousand people;
• Navoi region - 1 million 044.0 thousand people;
• Syrdarya region - 887.1 thousand people.

According to the information received, the population of Uzbekistan is increasing by about 1.8 thousand people every day.  As of 1 July of the current year, the population of Uzbekistan is 35.6 million people.
