A video selection meeting was held in Bukhara on August 11, chaired by Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to address issues related to ensuring price stability through increased food production and providing energy resources to the population and economic sectors.

During the meeting, the head of state discussed the concern that 94 districts and cities in Uzbekistan are unable to fully meet the potato needs of their residents.

It has been observed that many countries are grappling with food shortages due to decreasing water resources year by year. In response, 200,000 hectares of land have been allocated to the population for farming as a result of reducing cotton fields in Uzbekistan. This initiative has led to providing 700,000 residents with permanent jobs and 1.3 million with seasonal employment, resulting in a 605,000 (90 percent) increase in farmers' incomes. Nevertheless, at present, 94 districts and cities in the republic are unable to supply their residents with potatoes, while 62 districts rely on other regions for onions, 60 for carrots, 84 for meat, and 139 for poultry and eggs.

It was highlighted that the number of self-sufficient districts in terms of potatoes has increased to 112, while onions are supplied adequately in 144 districts and carrots in 146 districts, meeting the population's needs.

As a reminder, we previously reported the commencement of the head of state's practical visit to the Bukhara region. The President also visited the "Kahramon" neighborhood in the Romitan district to gain insights into the residents' living conditions.
