In Uzbekistan, 16% of children under the age of 17 live only with their mother, and 2% only with their father.  79% of children live in traditional 2 parent families.

This was reported by the State Statistics Committee based on the results of Multi-indicator cluster observations conducted in cooperation with UNICEF.

As of 1 January 2022, the number of children under the age of 17 in the republic is 12 million 118 thousand 591.

It is recorded that 3% of children do not live with their biological (that is, birth) parents.

It is noted that 81% of households have at least one child under the age of 17, and 42% have at least one child under the age of 5.

For reference, Multi-indicator Cluster Observations is an international household sample observation program developed by UNICEF, which collects multi-indicator data mainly to assess the situation of children and women.
