Uzbekistan has successfully concluded negotiations with two additional countries, Canada and Panama, regarding its accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO). This was announced by Azizbek Urunov, Uzbekistan’s special representative on WTO matters, on his LinkedIn page.

According to Urunov, during the 11th meeting on Uzbekistan’s WTO accession, the country successfully signed bilateral protocols with Canada and Panama to facilitate market access.

“Uzbekistan expressed gratitude to the Canadian and Panamanian teams for their constructive cooperation during the WTO accession process and in bilateral negotiations,” the statement said.

It is worth noting that earlier, during President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s official visit to Brussels, Uzbekistan and the European Union finalized bilateral negotiations on Uzbekistan’s WTO accession. This marked a successful conclusion of market access, export and import tariff arrangements, and services sector negotiations with all 27 EU member states.
