On November 6, Uzbekistan successfully concluded bilateral market access negotiations with Ecuador as part of its accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO), President’s special representative for WTO matters, Azizbek Urunov, announced on his LinkedIn page.
“I would like to sincerely thank the Ecuadorian side for their constructive dialogue and support. We have full confidence in this process and take pride in our joint efforts. The work continues – negotiations with two more WTO members are upcoming,” he said.
Previously, Uzbekistan had completed negotiations on WTO membership with Canada and Panama.
Earlier, during President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s official visit to Brussels, Uzbekistan and the European Union concluded bilateral talks on Uzbekistan’s WTO accession. This agreement covers market access issues with all 27 EU member states, including trade in goods, export and import duties, and services, marking a successful conclusion of the negotiations.
