There are messages on social networks about the World Championship in Tashkent, saying that "Uzbekistan is choosing its opponents."  The Boxing Federation of Uzbekistan reacted to this situation.

"The World Championship among adults, held every two years, is organized by the International Boxing Association (IBA).  The Uzbek side does not have the authority to determine the participation or non-participation of the countries registered to participate in the competition. "Uzbekistan is the host country of the competition and deals with organizational issues," the federation said in a statement.

Also, in the message of the federation, it was noted that Uzbekistan is a country that complies with international sports norms.

"Registration of championship participants, national teams, athletes, coaches, and referees are carried out by IBA.  When our country won the right to host the competition, there were no current restrictions on the participation of national teams or athletes in international tournaments. "Uzbekistan is a country that adheres to international sports norms and supports the principle of apolitical sports," the federation added.

It should be recalled that earlier countries such as the USA, Great Britain, Canada, Ireland, the Czech Republic, and Ukraine announced a boycott of the World Championship to be held in Tashkent and New Delhi.  One of the main reasons why these countries do not participate in the competition is that the International Boxing Association allowed Russian and Belarusian boxers to participate in the World Championship under their flags.
