Mazar-i-Sharif international airport has been restored with the help of Uzbekistan

The process of providing technical assistance for the restoration of Mazar-e-Sharif International Airport, named after Mawlana Jalaluddin Balkhi in Afghanistan, has been completed.  This was reported by the National Information Agency of Uzbekistan.

It is noted that at the ceremony dedicated to the completion of the restoration process of Mazar-i-Sharif International Airport, the Ministry of Transport, "Uzaviation" agency, "Uzaeronavigation" center SUE (state unitary enterprise), "Uzbekistan Airports" JSC, "Uzhydromet" were represented by the members of Uzbekistan delegation.

In this ceremony, it was said that Uzbekistan makes a great contribution to the economic recovery of neighboring Afghanistan, and to the formation of transport and energy infrastructure, and it was especially noted that technical assistance was provided by Uzbekistan in the resumption of the operation of this international airport.

As it turned out, in a short period of time, the airport started serving 4 domestic and 1 international flight per week.

In addition, in the direction of technical support, the Mazar-i-Sharif airfield's runway surface, aircraft turning lanes, and parking signs were completely renewed.

Uzbekistan National Electric Networks" JSC has brought the electricity and light-technical supply of the region to the level of modern requirements.

According to the report, experts working at the airports of Uzbekistan were interested in this airport in Afghanistan.
