Uzbekistan and Slovakia sign strategic partnership declaration

On June 9, at the conclusion of high-level negotiations in Tashkent, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic Robert Fico signed a joint declaration on the establishment of strategic partnership relations. This was reported by the press service of the President of Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, a number of bilateral documents were exchanged, including agreements on:

- Training of diplomatic personnel;
- Cooperation in agriculture;
- Cooperation in standardization, metrology, and conformity assessment of goods;
- Collaboration in energy market regulation;
- A program of cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs for 2025–2026;
- A program of cooperation in the field of standardization for 2025–2026.

As previously reported, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico arrived in Uzbekistan on the evening of June 8. He was welcomed at Tashkent International Airport by Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov and other high-ranking officials.

On June 9, the Slovak Prime Minister laid flowers at the foot of the Independence Monument in New Uzbekistan Park. Members of the Slovak delegation were given a detailed presentation on the architectural features and symbolic significance of the complex. Fico was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khojaev.

An official welcoming ceremony for Prime Minister Fico was held at the Kuksaroy residence. Following the ceremony, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister Robert Fico held talks focused on advancing practical cooperation between the two countries. At the start of the meeting, President Mirziyoyev noted that the visit marked a new and significant phase in the development of multifaceted Uzbek–Slovak relations.

Prime Minister Fico is also expected to participate in the IV Tashkent International Investment Forum.
