On September 20, the third round of the Futsal World Championship, hosted by Uzbekistan, took place.

In Group "A," Uzbekistan, still seeking its first win after two rounds, faced Costa Rica in a decisive match.

Costa Rica took an early lead in the 4th minute with a goal by Cubillo. Uzbekistan's Mashrab Odilov equalized in the 11th minute, making it 1:1. However, just before halftime, Costa Rican Leon restored his team's lead, ending the first half at 2:1.

The second half saw Uzbekistan equalize again in the 27th minute. Berkinov then gave Uzbekistan the lead in the 30th minute, making it 2:3.

Shortly after, Uzbekistan's Ikhtiyor Ropiev received a red card, leaving his team with one less player for 2 minutes. Costa Rica capitalized on this, with Chavarria scoring the equalizer. Kabalseta's goal in the 34th minute put Costa Rica ahead 4:3. Salas sealed the victory with another goal, ending the match 5:3. With this loss, Uzbekistan was eliminated from the Futsal World Cup, despite being the host.
