Uzbekistan has established diplomatic relations with the island nation of Palau in the Pacific Ocean. This was announced by Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister, Bakhtiyor Saidov, on his Telegram channel.
’’We are pleased to meet with Mr. Gustav Aitaro, Minister of State of Palau. We signed a historic document, a Joint Communique, on the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries,’’ Saidov wrote.
According to him, this important step not only reflects mutual goodwill but also paves the way for promising cooperation and partnership.
’’We will use all our opportunities to unlock new prospects between Uzbekistan and Palau, and to establish strong and long-term ties,’’ the Foreign Minister emphasized.
Palau is an island country located in the Philippine Sea of the Pacific Ocean, situated 800 kilometers east of the Philippines and north of Indonesia. The nation has a population of about 21,000 people, with its capital in Ngerulmud.
It should be noted that Palau has become the 165th country with which Uzbekistan has established diplomatic relations.
Earlier, it was reported that Uzbekistan had also established diplomatic ties with Kenya, an East African nation.
